In Australia, that ideal combination is found in seatedmassage founders, Stuart and Lena MacRae. Both have served their time in high stress corporate environments and know the health and productivity challenges that come with long hours, tough deadlines and unrelenting pressure.

The beginning ...
Stu and Lena discovered early on in their relationship a shared appreciation for natural therapies.  They realised that they’d love nothing more than to create a partnership that would turn their passion into a business. That is – simply – the business of making people feel good. From its launch in 1993, this basic desire has been the cornerstone of the seatedmassage philosophy.

The evolution ...
Around five years ago, Stu and Lena experienced another epiphany. If they could work ‘on’ the business rather than ‘in’ it, they could deliver corporate natural health to a nationwide clientele and make feeling great an entirely reasonable workplace expectation. The couple always knew that any and every improvement in an employee’s wellbeing reaped benefits for their employers. The ‘work/life balance’ buzz term was a concept that seatedmassage understood and promoted long before it was given a name.

These days, Stu and Lena now have a wonderful team of over 100 practitioners around Australia and when they can, they still like to jump in and lend a hand with the massage. Additionally, of course, being at the front line enables them to maintain a focus on what their clients and practitioners experience. And when you call seatedmassage, you will undoubtedly be speaking with either of them and they will personally be there right the way through your time with them to ensure your experience with seatedmassage is just as you expect it to be - the very best available.

Love, life and lifestyle ...
Away from work, Stu and Lena – who have a beautiful daughter and a beloved dog – adore being outdoors, connecting with the natural world around them. They love to indulge in travel, great wine, delicious food and the best coffee they can find. Stu is a passionate cyclist who himself knows a thing or two about the benefits of après-exercise massage!

With a healthy work/life balance, a focused family life and a business devoted to putting smiles on faces, it’s no wonder Stu and Lena so actively promote the benefits of lifestyle choice. Life is not all about work. The pursuit of health, wellbeing and fulfilment is often relegated to the back burner for many people. Through the provision of seatedmassage’s services, the couple hope that more of us will see the light and aim for greater balance.
